The study compared high school graduates and dropouts across many variables in hopes of shedding some light on the diverse factors contributing to student dropout. Currently, I am working on an attentional bias study which will examine the physiological attentional biases or shift of high school students toward school related words. We theorize that dropout students will exhibit a stronger attentional bias or shift toward school related words, as these words are more threatening or stress-inducing to dropouts than graduates.
